Bedrock Crossplay

Crossplay lets Bedrock players — phones, tablets, consoles, and Minecraft for Windows — join your Java server. Flip one switch and FadeHost runs Geyser and Floodgate on your server for you: no plugin downloads, no config files, no second server.

Bedrock players don't need a Java account. Floodgate authenticates them with their Xbox/Microsoft account and they appear in-game with a . in front of their name (so .Steve is the Bedrock version of a player name).

Enabling it​

  1. Open your server → Settings → General.
  2. Turn on Bedrock Crossplay (available on Paper, Purpur, and Spigot servers).
  3. Restart the server — Geyser and Floodgate install automatically during startup.

After the restart, the settings page shows the Bedrock address and port your console/phone friends should use.

How Bedrock players join​

On their device: Play → Servers → Add Server, then enter:

  • Server address — shown on your settings page (your server's IP)
  • Port — the Bedrock port shown next to it (this is not the Java port)

Java players keep connecting exactly as before — same address, same port, nothing changes for them.

Good to know​

  • Version tolerance: Geyser tracks the latest Bedrock releases and generally accepts current Bedrock versions joining a current Java server. Right after a brand-new Minecraft release there can be a short gap until Geyser updates — we ship updates automatically on every server restart.
  • What Bedrock players can do: play survival/creative, chat, build — nearly everything. A few Java-only quirks (custom resource packs, some plugin GUIs) may look different on Bedrock.
  • Turning it off: flip the switch off and restart — the Bedrock port stops answering and the plugins are removed.
  • Works with hibernation: a sleeping server wakes when a Java player joins. Bedrock players can't trigger the wake themselves yet — a Java player (or the panel Start button) needs to wake it first.

Troubleshooting​

  • "Unable to connect" on Bedrock — double-check you're using the Bedrock port from the settings page, not the Java port, and restart the server once after enabling the toggle.
  • Bedrock player names look odd — the . prefix is Floodgate's marker for Bedrock players; whitelist them as .TheirName.
